ATOOM RS-232 is een TTL-RS232 niveau-omzetter ontworpen voor gebruik met de M5Atomic-module. RS232 is een full-duplex communicatieprotocolstandaard, die de elektrische kenmerken van het seriële communicatiesysteem definieert. Het is een veelgebruikt communicatieprotocol op het gebied van industriële besturing. MAX232-chip is geïntegreerd in de module, die bidirectionele conversie tussen TTL-niveau en RS232-niveau ondersteunt. In de ATOOM RS485 is een DC / DC-spanningsregelaarchip geïntegreerd, die de 12V-spanning van de RS232-hub direct kan omzetten naar 5V om ATOOM van stroom te voorzien.
